find an expert speaker

Are you looking for speaker with expertise in criminal justice to talk to your school or community group?

You do not need to be an expert in criminal justice to deliver a discussion about prisons and community sentencing with your sixth form class or community group, based on the Where Do You Stand? discussion tools.

However, you may find that it adds depth to your discussion to have someone with experience of the criminal justice system on hand to talk about their experiences and answer questions from your group – whether they join you for a session or come to talk to your group on another occasion.  Some ideas are contained in the document available to download here

(For a larger meeting, you might consider asking your local Police and Crime Commissioner or other elected representative (MP, MSP, AM, MLA, councillor or CJA convenor (in Scotland)) to speak to your group.  You might also consider finding out whether your group could take part in a Local Crime: Community Sentence event in your local area.)
