Eating Disorders Association  0845 634 1414

Telephone Helpline for people affected by eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, bingeing and compulsive eating.  The EDA is a listening service, offering support and also signposting callers to relevant information including a national network of support groups, postal and telephone contacts.

MYH is a registered charity that provides faith and culturally sensitive support services to Muslim youth in the UK.  This is a free and confidential Helpline service run by young Muslim volunteers.

Helpline for anyone concerned about drug or solvent misuse.  Advice and information for drug misusers, their families, friends, carers and professionals.  Formally known as the National Drugs Helpline.

Provides counselling, information and advice to anyone concerned about a child at risk of abuse.  All helpline counsellors are qualified social workers and experienced in child protection.

 

Prisoners' Families Helpline  0808 808 2003

The Prisoners' Families Helpline is a free and confidential service for anyone who is affected by the imprisonment of a close family member or friend. It gives up-to-date information and guidance about prisons in England and Wales. It also provides links with different services and local support groups in your area. And offers connections to a translation service for non-English speakers.

Helpline offering emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.  Can also put caller through without delay to their nearest manned branch.

Helpline for providing information and advice on mental health.  Gives callers the option for action and puts them in touch with available sources of help and support.  Emotional and crisis support for people experiencing mental illness and for their families, carers and friends. 

Sexual Health Line  0800 567 123

Information and advice on all aspects of sexually transmitted infections and HIV prevention.  Formally known as the National AIDS Helpline.

Shelterline  0808 800 4444

Telephone advice and information for people with a housing problem, or who are homeless.  Issues dealt with include housing rights, harassment, illegal eviction, rent and mortgage arrears, housing benefit, domestic violence, hostel placements and finding accommodation.

Helpline and other information and advice services for people affected by HIV/AIDS.  Gay men’s and African People’s health promotion teams.
