Guide to the Human Rights Act This free booklet, produced jointly by PRT and the Prison Service, was printed to coincide with the Human Rights Act.

Information Book for Disabled Prisoners This information book explains where to go for assistance if you are in prison and have disabilities. It also gives information on your rights whilst inside.

Parole Information Booklet Produced jointly by PRT and the Prison Service, this free booklet explains in straightforward, easily understandable terms how the parole system works. 

Prison Rules: A Working Guide We have produced a detailed  guide to the Prison Rules.  This is not available online, but you can get a free copy by contacting us.

PRISONER INFORMATION BOOKLETS

As part of our aim to provide information and help to prisoners and their families, we produce jointly with the Prison Service the following Prisoners' Information Books.
 
• Male prisoners and young offenders


• Women prisoners and female young offenders


• Life sentenced prisoners - 'lifers'


• Visiting and keeping in touch

PRT can supply individual copies free of charge to people with a relative or friend in prison. We can also supply individual copies to probation officers, solicitors, and other interested professionals but we have to charge a small amount to cover postage and packing. Please contact PRT offices for details of these charges.

The Prisoners' Information Book is also translated into 22 languages: Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, ChineseDutch, French, German, Greek, Gujerati, Hindi, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Serbo CroatSpanish, TamilTurkish, Urdu, Vietnamese and Welsh,           

 Each prison should have three copies of each book in its library.
