Geoff Dobson, Deputy Director, the Prison Reform Trust said today:

The Prison Reform Trust supports the call for a public inquiry. Our understanding is that such an inquiry would not be an investigation of HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs as it is today, where significant improvements have been made. Rather it should examine how, given all the safeguards that exist, something like this could ever have happened and identify ways in which the system can be improved to make sure it will not happen anywhere in the future.
